2 Gallon - Marineland Saltwater Tank

As long as I can remember I have always had Freshwater tanks... In fact it has always been a dream of mine to turn my 55 Gallon (FW) Tank into a (SW) tank. But as life goes there has always been the $$$ issue. Then just when I was about to get a 12 Gallon Nano-Tank...as life goes...once again... Medical bills from the birth of twins boys... stopped that.. But then a friend of mine who was moving gave me his 2 Gallon Marineland tank with about 98 (Guppies!!!) Well I'm more of a Tetra fan... so I worked out a deal with my local fishstore owner (fishfishfish.biz) for a store credit... then while at the store I had an grand Idea... Turn the 2 Gallon tank into a Saltwater tank. The Store owner laughed at me and said it wouldn't work.... But I had my mind set... With my store credit & ($3.98) I was able to buy 2 Pounds of live rock, 2 Pounds of crushed coril, & Live saltwater.. Then I went home to set up my tank... I knew that more lighting was needed than the little 10 watt (christmas builb) that came built into the hood of the marineland tank...so I used an old FL. Builb and hood that came with an old 10 Gallon tank I had and stood it on it's side beside my 2 Gallon tank.... This worked until I was able to modify the Marineland hood to take a bigger 10 watt corilife (50/50) builb and have some glass cut for it to sit on.)...It looks really good... In fact it looks stock. Now I'm working on building LCD moonlights that will mount into the hood.. This tank has been up and running now for 3 1/2 months with no problems. I do a 25% water change every 2 weeks... and have a small plug in Heat for Tanks under 5 Gallons.. If you have dreams of a Saltwater tank but no $$$, don't worry friend...dreams can come true...

That is kind of a neat little set-up. I think its great that you gave a home to a handicapped fish.

Cool tank! I was going to do the same thing with my 2 gallon eclipse, but then my betta got kicked out of his old home so I gave the tank to him.
That's really sweet that you bought a clown with a lucky spine.

I have that same exact fish tank just sitting empty in my garage.
How much were the modifications that you made in order to turn it into a saltwater fish tank.

Also, I already have the live rock/sand and live stock.

Just for the light and filter modifications if any?
