That fan mod sounds interesting, keep us updated. I just installed 2 - 1" dia LED lights containing 9 LEDs a piece. Here is the end result, I am very pleased so far! Sorry for the huge pics.

Wow very nice! I have that exact same light fixture on my 5.5. With a room temp of 75 degrees, my tank reaches 80.5 at the end of the 8 hr light period. How high are your temps reaching? Marty
