Evidence of my Hair Algae attack

I had the same problem stopped feeding for awhile. Scrubbed the rocks. Checked the phosphate levels and the were high. Added phosban in a filter bag and let it run passively in the sump and the hair algae cleared up. Now I feed less and monitor phosphate levels, where I didn't before.

    coaraline algae

If your rock has some coraline, scrape a little off and will seed other places. Good tank parameters help out a lot.

    Does anyone here keep seahorses?

Skipm hit the nail on the head about seahorse.org library. That is where the owner of my LFS sent me before he would sell them. I am still thinking of doing a seahorse tank, but after I have my new pico up and running for awhile. Check out www.melvesreef.com under hidden treasures, he has a...

    Did a dumb thing...

I think this one was just cranky, it did come from a tank with other anemone's. I have been afraid to get near it again. It is doing wonderful, slowly making it's way up the rock to get closer to light. I had read that they will stay towards the top of the tank. The clowns feed it, that is...

It was a magnificent anemone, very beautiful. My clowns are in heaven. It felt like a slow to start bee sting. It got more painful as the evening wore on.

    Did a dumb thing...

The other night we picked up a ritteri magnificent anemone for the big tank. I gave in to my wife, she would have an all anemone tank if she could. After acclimating it with the drip method, I was carefully lowering it onto a a rock where I hope it would stay. All of a sudden the anemone...

    RO/DI and UV System...

Mike, the unit is hooked up to the cold water line, mine is under my kitchen sink and has a seperate faucet. The RO unit goes to the tank, if I want for to make coffee or to cook I use that faucet. For RO/DI water, I have a seperate valve at the end, when I fill up for top off water or to make...

    RO/DI and UV System...

I agree with Skip. The tank is if you want it all at once. A hand held TDS meter is better. I mix about eight gallons at a time, it takes about two hours to fill the container. The tank I have holds only RO water, it does go through DI filter when the DI valve is on. I ran a water line the...

    RO/DI and UV System...

I have a six stage RO/DI unit that does 110 gallons per day, I have the 3 gallon drinking water tank for it as well. The drinking water tank comes from the RO unit, we use this for cooking and coffee, as well. I turn a valve for the RO/DI to fill my water tubs/jugs. I have tasted the RO/DI...
