    DIY Auto top-off. How to?

If you want the cheapest and least fire hazardess DIY autotopoff you can build an air powered unit. I built one for under $20 and it works awesome. You will need (1) battery powered air pump, (1) float switch, (1) an air tight container, and airline. One problem with people making...

Ok. Basically what you will need is a dremel, bit #7103, bit #7144, and some playdoh. You start off by building a mountain ridge out of playdoh around the area you wish to drill. Then you pour maybe 1/8" of water in the valley you just made(the water keeps the bit and the glass cool). At...

I actually traded that setup for a 140 but if I remember correctly if unplugged the temp would rise to 86. I dont know how far they could've pulled the temp down because my controller turned them off at 78. The both of em was overkill but I ran a 70 watt halide over it, a RIO1700 as my return...

skip has a great idea. ... and you can definitely drill the nanocube. I drilled two holes(or rather dremeled) in the back of my NC12DX for two iceprobe chillers. Just be careful and you shouldnt have any problems. If you want details on how I drilled mine just PM me or post here...

    Bakpak 2R or Remora skimmer

Everyone above has very valid points. A skimmer isnt 100% necessary in your situation but if you are going to use one I'm with Skip and reefman23. I've used both and the main benefits to the remora over the CPR are 1) they just work better 2) better pump 3) less noise 4) its a bit smaller...

Heads up on a good deal for a 70w MH retro

no prob. I'd took the halide off my tank and my corals seem to be happier under only 13 watts of PC. I'm starting to think MH is too much for a smaller nano(under 5 gallons). It would be sweet for the minibow though  !!!!!!
