what is this chemi-pure? is it a carbon-like substance that is a pellet or block or something? and more importantly, will it take the phosphates and nitrates out of my tank?

that one shown is running on my 10gal, the total water volume is around 15gallons though, since it has a 10gal sump underneath the display, filled halfway.

it skims extremely well, you can adjust the color of skim by how much air you put in, so by using the adjuster on the air pump, i get a nice dark skim out of my 15gal system

i can't take full credit for the design though, i got the idea off of either nano-forums, or reef central, and kinda designed it to work with my tank.

look for the tidepool sos system, its meant for larger systems though
