    skimmer for biocube 29...

i did some research. I guess the rio is a pos and not worth it. seems like sapphire makes one for BC29 that does not require any mods. Anyone have any experience with it? Runs $139.99. Also seems like aquac remora nano is good but I don't know if mods are required. anyone have any input?

    skimmer for biocube 29...

skimmers. I was wrong, they do not make the skimmers in the shop. they use "rio nano" skimmers. They sell the skimmers alone for $45. Guy said he would do the needed mod (just a cut in the back of the hood) for no charge. Are rio nano skimmers any good, is this a good deal?

I want to get a skimmer for my tank. Does anyone have any reccomendations? I would like to spend $140 max and hopefully have to perform little modification to my hood if possible. My LFS will MOD my hood and put in a skimmer that they build at the shop. It sounds like a good deal, but I'd like...

damsels... I would like to add either a dwarf lionfish and or a moray eel (small snowflake) and maybe a watcher goby to my cube. Guy at the LFS told me he would let me get a credit if I bring back the damsels. I like the damsels but I'm afraid to put anything else pricey in the tank because...

update: I let my tank cycle all the way through before adding livestock. It took six weeks with 25+ lbs of live rock to get ammonia/nitrite/nitrate down to immeasureable levels. Cycle was complete when I added the livestock a little over a week ago (the tank is now 8 weeks old). Have not done a...

Re: Temperature. I managed to get the temperature in my tank down to about 81 degrees by placing a fan next to it for a few hours. I've shut off the fan to see it will stabilize. I really don't want to move the tank so I plan to hang a sheet over the window to keep out any light from the window...

    new biocube 29 help!

update: I self tested my water with a salt water test kit. All levels were good except for the ammonia. I took the water sample to an LFS just to make sure my readings were accurate and to see if the thought I was ready for some livestock. They suggested I wait until the ammonia levels go...
