I would bump it up to about 1.026 if you are using a hydrometer to measure your specific gravity.... those things usually read about .003 higher than the level actually is. This means that if it read 1.026, then the level probably is somewhere around 1.023. Jesse p.s. the best way to...

Good point...plus hydrometers are not very accurate...generally they read about .003 higher than the actual amount of salt too In order for the hydrometer to be anywhere near accurate, you need to let it set full of saltwater (i believe...its been so long) for 24 hours. this helps to...

Actually mike he mentioned a version that had the pump in one chamber pumping the water up and over into the skimmer in th enext chamber. Jesse

I have never seen "skirtless" zoas, but i have seen some, especially like paly's that have little nubs all the way around the edge of each polyp as opposed to the extended "fingers" found on most skirts. I would say give it some time, put them in an area where there is some current, and see...

I know that sometimes on my bak pak that the nozzle or outlet on the pump that sucks water into the pump will get clogged...but it seems that you have looked into that aleady. I am not all that familiar with the counter-current skimmers like the one you have though... I am sure that someone...
