    Tank Update

Lets see, Ill start at the top. First thing, just make sure you are rinsing the sponge completely clean every few days. You'll want to thouroughly rinse the carbon too before you add it to the tank (you might already know this stuff, but just want to be sure!). I personally like a small...

    lets get this party started...

Yes, it would need to be above the tank. That brings up the biggest downfall of these things, and that is if the seal is broken, the enitre jug will empty out. For those with sumps though, that isnt a problem. My sump could quite easily handle the extra gallon of water, and the salanity...

    Flowerpot - Dying?

First off, welcome. Secondly, Im sure you ahve read that these corals are one of a few that will die for no known reason. Due to your stated circumstances, I would say that this coral is just "ticked off". As long as you dont see the tissue receeding from the skeleton, it should be fine...

    lets get this party started...

THe tube coming out of the top is set to the desired water level. Air is sucked into the jug causing water to come out of the tube in the bottom of the bottle. When the water raises to the end of the tube, a vacuum of sorts is formed keeping any more water to come out of the bottle. You...

    Outdoor tanks??

Many corals thrive with the natural sunlight (obviously!) and outdoor tanks are usually very large, shallow-lagoon type setups that you dont normally see indoors. Jesse

    Corals And Flows

Mushrooms and rics tend to prefer lower flow, my zoas tend to prefer medium/ medium-high flow, SPS in general like as much flow as you can give them... often 40x-100x turnover per hour.My pulsing xenias seem to thrive better in low-medium flow areas personally. Jesse

    Natural Sunlight

A LFS here in So. Cal has a softy-dominant tank that has irect sunlight all day. Another has a tank that gets sun about half the day. Both have a TON of coraline algae, including colors that arent normally achieved in our tanks. Jesse
