Hey Alex... what is the head on the pump? The way I figured it, even at only 3 feet head with a straight pipe, you should only be getting around 550 GPH. A 1" bulkhead should be able to handle around 600 GPH. Maybe open up the hole on your "T" or something. Anyways, your setup is AWESOME...

If you use new sand, you are less likely to have another cycle. If you move your existing sand bed, you may experience a small cycle lasting a couple of days. Other than that, you can use the same filters, rock, etc without any problems. HTH, Jesse

As far as the clam goes, you didnt list your lighting options. If you want a clam, wait AT LEAST 6 months after the tank has stabilized, and get 2x150 watt MH if the tank is longer than 30 inches. Jesse

I, too, think that those fish would do great. I would keep it at two fish though... I am a big fan of a small bioload. As far as teh sand goes, I havent seen live black sand either. I would just get a good quality LR and dont worry about the bacteria in the sand... it will seed pretty...

The yellow-headed Jawfish isnt a good choice for the 12g IMO. They prefer a rather deep sand bed cosisting of various sized grains of sand. the blenny wouldnt be a bad choice i dont think or maybe some of the small gpbies... they are always a good choice. 10 nassarius snails is a bit much...
