    Firefish are cool... very pretty fish. They are jumpers though, so you always have to be careful with that. Helfreich's firefish are beautiful but out of most people's price range. You can get them out here on the west coast for around $80. Jesse

    Live rock rubble are the best form of biological filtration... I would remove the bioballs and put the rubble in. Flow rate should be at least 20x turnover per hour... so aim for about 250 GPH total. Jesse

    First off, WELCOME to nanotank.com! the simple mods that are most effective are to remove most of the sponge, add a chemical media like Chemi-pure, replace the ceramic bio-rings with live rock rubble, upgrade the return pump for a higher GPH, definitely add a surface skimmer to the intake...
