I've got plenty of acrylic and I still have 2 coralife 2x9w fixtures, so those won't be a problem.

The more I think about it the AC500 might be the best route. If I remember right, there isn't much to converting them into a fuge. I'm 70-80 Miles south of SA, unless there's a part for a tractor waiting on me up there, trips are frowned apon.

The only problem with going that route here is that the shipping is what jacks the price up.

I've heard of the AC500's being converted to fuges, but will that be big enough for a 30L?

Has anyone had any experience with these? If so, can you give me your opinion on them? I'll be setting up my 30L soon and was thinking of adding on to it.

That was my first thought too, but was told they were not yumas. Anyone else want to chime in?

Normally when they shed the outer 'skin' it's a clearish sheet. If it's black (just lost my leather awhile back) then I would say that it is dying. How long have you noticed the 'black edges'? If it's been a few days, check for amonia. A water change is always a good idea.

Yes they are ricordea, the picture just didn't capture the color. Very brigth neon yellow/orange.

I caught these pictures awhile back, there's about a 15 minute between these shots. The star was fine afterwards, so my only guess would be that it was 'splitting'.

Anyone know of someone looking for a larger tank?
