    Mantis Shrimp, 3 gallon nano

Photos of the little guy Okay took some photos the other night. Here he is. Sorry the photos are not closer up and better. He's mainly a maroon, with green, an his little tail has blue around the feathery ends. I am hoping after he molts a few times he might get more color, or maybe not...

    Mantis Shrimp, 3 gallon nano

No name yet... :lol3: No name yet! Any suggestions? He is a total stalker, and extremely smart for such a small creature. He has created a little hole right up front (perfect for viewing!) and hang out there when not hunting. I was watching him today, and that little sucker was down at...

    Mantis Shrimp, 3 gallon nano

Size Looks like through looking at different sites, that the kind I have will only max out at 2 inches. I don't plan on putting anything else in the tank, or putting corals or anything. Just the Mantis......so I don't think a 3 gallon is too small. And if he outgrows the tank, then that...

    Mantis Shrimp, 3 gallon nano

I don't think that the Mantis will be harmed with putting him in a new tank. I did use Agra live sand, the bottled seawater, and seeded the tank with sand from my established system. Live rock was cured. I do expect some swings and that sort, but from what I hear, these Mantis are almost...

Bearded Dragon and 80 gallon tank... $150

Your apartment will not allow you to keep a lizard???? What the heck??? I am currently living in a 2 bedroom apartment here in FL, and have 2 dogs, a Moluccan Cockatoo, and Conure, a breeding pair of Congo African Greys (that have 2 babies every 3-4 months), and a African White Necked Raven that...

Flat worms....how do I get rid of them if they are bad?

Treatment done, lost my "Lenny" R.I.P "Lenny...the bi-colored Blenny".... Did the treatment. I sucked out as many as I could find and then sucked out the ones that started coming out as they were dying. I think I caught it early enough, because I only ended up with maybe 20 worms. I look at...

Flat worms....how do I get rid of them if they are bad?

I got some of the Flatworm Exit. I will being using it tomorrow, when I can use a siphon to first get what I can out, and then siphon what are dying out. I also have 10 gallons of new water that I will do a water change after treatment or of I see any troubles with my creatures as the worms die...

    Non-reef pets...

Well....where are the decent men at??? It's not that I choose to be single, it's that I can't seem to find someone who is consistant with their personality after 6 months of dating! I constantly seem to find a man who seems to be perfect, but then shows true colors 6 months down the road...

Flat worms....how do I get rid of them if they are bad?

I found what I think are flatworms. I just noticed them on a part of my main rock. Little ones and bigger ones. They dont look they are moving until I went to touch one...they move fast! My tank is now is about 9 months old. Okay...so what do I do???? I assume they are BAD.... can I use a...

    My new critter :)

Anakin is only 6 weeks old......he will get bigger still! He's a great bird, but I don't know him real well yet. Being that he is a baby..he sleeps alot. I know they are supposed to be extremely smart...right up there with apes and marine mammals. I have found his pitfalls to be stinky...

    My new critter :)

Meet "Anakin", a 6 week old African White Necked Raven. I just got him yesterday, and he is being handfed. He wears "jesses" on his feet. You will see them as blue wiry looking things. I cut those off today and ordered him some smaller, soft leather ones. It's so you can take them outdoors on...

Bicolor Blenny picking my Crocea Clam

Lennie my Bicolor Blenny Lennie picks at a lot of things, mainly picking little minute bits of algae off. Perhaps he's picking just below the mantle or something? They are cute little buggars with lots of personality. I hope he stops that, cause they are a neat little fish to have.

    Bristleworms eating bubble algae?

For the past week, I have witnessed on my "night dives" (flashlight in the tank at night) a huge bristle worm come out of a particular spot and munch away at some red bubble algae until it was completely gone. Any one else witness these guys taking care of things? I have heard they are bad...

Gonipora corals (Flower Pot Corals) question

Well, I feel JADED by my LFS. I purchased (unfortunately) a bright green Gonipora coral a few weeks ago, as it was absolutely (and still is) stunning. It has probably 200+ Polyps that extend on it that are a bright neon lime green color. I had NO IDEA though, that this happens to be one of...

    Temp. question

Temps and fish I have had power outages and had to use icecubes in a ziplock baggie floating in the tank to regulate my temp a bit, as the temp was getting to high as the house was sitting at over 85F. When I first got my cube, I had the heater in it, and all the other gadgets, and my temp...

    Temp. question

Temp swings How come when diving and visiting the reefs, there are temp swings during different parts of the year, weather related swings, and thermocline's, but 2 to 3 degrees difference in a tank matter's so much? Just wondering about that. I have a 24NC, and to be honest, I run no heater...
