It will work like a charm..... You are just using your main tank as a sump. I had a 2.5 pico with a 20 gallon sump for years, when I kept dwarf seahorses..... :razz:

once you add the surface skimmer.....keep a close eye on your top off water. has to be done more often, because your back three chambers become your sump.....
