IMO i would just leave it in the tank at this point. if any harm was done to the tank it has already happened. put it in the substrate if you already havent. it might come back, it might not. i would just keep up with your regular maintenance.

had a lid but if he got into the overflow and then he could of got out from there....still a mystery....

if theres to much oxygen in the water it will bubble up. you dont have anything in the tank to use oxygen. or the algae will produce oxygen and then it will bubble up. nothing wrong with it, it happens to me all the time.

wherever your water level is effected by evap. then you place the larger tubing at the water level. make sure your salinity is right before placing tubing. when the level goes down it allows air into the bottle and gravity pull the water into the tank. when the water level rises the air is...

bubbles are oxygen... it would hurt anything to get a couple hermits. u definitly want to get a hydro or refracto. salinitly is very important.....
