Sounds like you are off to a good start. Don't worry too much about your algae bloom. Diatoms are typical of a fresh cycle and will go away with time. You can keep your lights off until you get your clean-up crew. It will only feed your algae bloom. Other than that I would just wait 1-3...

I agree. Even with seasoned water from another tank, it will do good to have more of a bacteria growth period. I don't know how other feel about it, but I would feed the tank a few small pieces of mysis or dry food to see how the tank handles it. Worse case is you start another cycle, but it...
