I've had zoas that closed for about a week before. I never found out why. They just opened back up one day and looked fine....weird.

I actually had a bunch that were doing great, then all of them in the tank closed up and a bunch of them died off before they started opening back up. I have no idea what caused it. All my parameters were fine. I tested, then had the LFS test a sample as well. I hadn't added anything recently. I did a water change and it didn't seem to help. Eventually the surviving ones opened back up and they seem happy now, but I have no idea what caused it, but I lost close to half of the ones I had.
Hopefully you're not having the same problems I had.

can zoos get to much light...there where placed near the top of the tank. now i have them in my ten galllon on the bottom and they are all starting to open up.

Anything can have too much light. Even the really light-hungry corals and critters don't tolerate sudden large increases in light well.
