Zoanthid w/mold?

I just got done acclimating my zoos and when I was placing it in my tank, I noticed a white spot of the very top. Here is a picture of the zoos. Should I be concerned? I tried to see if it would come off but at the same time didn't want to harm it if it's nothing too serious. Fill me in on what you think. Thanks.

the picture is not of the best however it looks like a sponge of some sort perhaps a qtip sponge :mrgreen:

yeah i was tinking the same or a barnicle but not sure??? bouth are harmless.

Looks like the dreaded zoo crud.....blowit off the best you can with a turkey baster and place the colony in a good flow area. If it seems to be spreading after a day or two, you have to scrape it off with a knife and save the rest of the zoos.

The reason I say this and don't think it's a sponge, is because you said mold. A better picture would help. Does it look like it's growing over the zoos?

Yes, I was thinking that 'zoo crud' best describes it. It is looking like it is growing over the zoos. I wouldn't say its a mushroom because it doesn't look very pleasant. But Thanks for the help guys.
