Yes they seem like very cool little tanks.

the 6 is $150

the 12 is $199

the 12 d is $279

and the 24 is somewhere over $300 here.

Yes Canadains get the short end of the stick when it comes to fish stuff...very expensive in most places here.

Hell my 6 gal Eclipse was over $100 with tax

That's really not that different than the prices here. And we have a port.
That's part of the reason that I don't buy new tanks. There are way too many nice used systems out there that are less than half of the new cost to make me want to go in and buy a new one.

I've had mixed results doing it online. Some good results some not so good. I've had excellent results by meeting folks online that were local, or through the newspaper, yard/garage sales, and some shops near me also will sell used stuff when a customer breaks a tank down.
It comes down to doing the research to find what you want, then looking for it used, and checking the condition of it. Just finding a piece of used gear that's cheap and buying it cause it might work is where lots of folks get into bad situations.

I bought one on-line as soon as they were available. I am just trying to make up my mind what I am going to put in it and whether or not I want to upgrade the lighting before setting it up. In the meantime I am still enjoying my 12 DX.
