Hi amf823380,

I think your tank might overheat a bit. with that light. What kinds of coral do you want to get?

That is a HPS lamp...not appropriate for reef tanks. HPS= High Pressure Sodium...wrong light wavelengths.

What are you looking to keep in your tank coral-wise?

there is an option there for a 50 or 70 watt metal halide for 39 dollars more... i suppose that might work, but you will need to get the appropriate bulb to get the right wavelengths

I am looking to keep mostly what I have but thought about getting one of the fancy clams the one with bright blue around the edge of the shell and some of the brains things like that and Looking for something to get a little better color out of the corals I do have now so I thought I would go with metal halide because then there isnt much I cant keep.

I am thinking about doing the thread you sent me reef or I might just break down and buy a 70w from illumining he seems to have pretty resonable prices and his stuff looks well done then again I might just break down and buy a higher wattage PC set up like one of the 96's which should be plenty for a 10 gall should be able to keep pretty much everything that I want under them and still be able to keep my canopy instead of having a hanging pendent.
