Wood Sealant?

What brand and type of sealant do you use on canopy's/stands? It has to resist salt and also not leach in anyway into the system. I'll be building a stand, or Pop's will, ina month.

In the past I've used regular wood stain and sealed it with water based poly and had good results.

Definately a waterbased stain! Even with oil based, you should not have any problems of it leaking into your tank if you put a good clear sealant over it.

I prefer polyurethane based sealers. Much more durable than water and oil based.

Varathane has always worked well for me. Put on about 4 coats, and remember to sand between each coat.
