Yikes:

I swear ever since I got this piece, I see new crazy shit. This is the rock where I had two ricordia heads on it. It came with an unwanted crab which I took out and took it back to the LFS. Now I notice this in the rock at night... I finally got shots of the damn things. They look like some kind of worms.

First pic: Striped worm and white worm (at least how I can describe it)

Last pic: here's a great shot of the striped looking worm.

Crazy looking huh? Should I be worried? Does it need to be killed? I can see them real good at night, but during the day, if it feeds, it retracts in and out of the hole like a frog's tongue, you can hardly see it. I wish I could have filmed it when i fed the fish flakes today. By sheer luck, some landed by the purple rock, and all of a sudden that thing scooped out it's wormy arm or whatever and pulled in each and ever piece of flake. I was like daaaamn. Hope you guys can help shed some light on the this.

Congradulations :applause: ! You have peanut worms.
Is that what those are? I quickly ran a search on them, and they say the live under rocks near sand or inbetween cracks in rock. I saw this video, found here:

http://www.racerocks.com/racerock/eco/t ... osomaa.htm

It shows divers collecting them for research, but as you see, he shakes it and it comes out easy. This guy looks like there is no way I could shake it out if I tried my hardeset. Well I guess that doesn't matter to me as long as they are not harmful, as I read they feed on microscopic organism. So the fish and corals are safe. That' was my primary concern. I guess they can only help on in the tank. Thanks for the help Jennie, real sweet of you to help me when I was really scratching my head here. Adios.

I have both kinds in my tank. While moving some rockwork awhile back I found the oddest looking worms, and found out they were peanut worms, its just I had never seen the entire worm, just what was roaming out of the rockwork. Not sure that I ever want to see a nekkid one again  .

The first site I looked at for peanut worms says they get up to 65mm. That's about 2.5 inches. Second one said 2-3 inches for full grown ones. I think they got it right, and that's probably what he has.
