What to put in 6 gallon nano?

I got my first saltwater tank a few months back, a 12 gallon nano cube. I had a rough start but things are going great now (I'm an expert! Yeah, right!). So great, that I want more (bad me, bad! I have no room or time for another tank.). In that time, I've pulled an emerald mithrax crab and a tiny unknown crab out of the 12 gallon and kept them in a 3 gallon Eclipse tank. I really can't stand the 3 gallon tank since I can't maneuver to do anything, and all that grows is diatoms since the lighting is weak. The 6 gallon nano cube is on sale so I ordered one. The tank will have the two crabs, live rock, and live sand for sure.

What else can I put in there? I will try a few snails but no hermit crabs (since there are already two crabs of potentially grabby disposition). I would love to have a fish. What fish will do okay in that small a tank? I want an active fish. Since they're cheap and small, what about a single damsel? I know people recommend a clown goby but they're small and probably hide. I also don't want the crab to pester the fish. I'd also love a shrimp. I can't have one in my 12 gallon for fear he'd eat my feather dusters (all hitchhiked worms). Is there any shrimp that would get along with the crabs, or are they just likely to attack each other as I'd guess? Finally, with the new light, I thought I'd try a few mushroom or polyp corals knowing that the crabs may one day eat some. This tank is for the crabs first unlike the 12 gallon so I will forgive them if they eat everything else. Thanks.

Damsel are tough fish for sure so if it were to be the only I don't see a huge issue with it. I've never actually had a damsel so I would wait and see what others think.

Damsels are tough, but they also get far too large for a 6 gallon tank. Unfortunately due to the low cost of them, they are usually bought as disposable. Most of the neat color patterns go away as they grow, and they get much bigger than people expect. I would recommend finding an alternative, or going fishless. Invert tanks are cool too.

pseudos are notorious for being mean. But that is a generlization (although a pretty accurate one from my observations).

For a 6 gallon I personally wouldn't put in a clown fish as they tend to be messy eaters.

Not sure on the gramma but the gobies should all be fine.

Now just to be sure for a 6 gallon I think 2 fish would be pushing it.

yes i do think purple pseudochromis and royal gramma may get mean to other fish (i havent kept just heard)but in a tank that small you couldnt add another fish anyway and they should be safe with invertebrates. im also setting up a slightly larger tank 7gallons and am also trying to choose my fish (so many options, so little fish :lol3: )
a few others that might work

court jester goby
hectors goby
wheelers watchman goby
yellowhead jawfish
blue assessor
yellow assessor

remember just because you might be able to keep an extra inch of fish doesnt mean you have to add it. :fu
helps this helps find your fish :loveface

I love my blue spot jawfish, but if you go a jawfish route go for 4-6" sand bed and make sure you put your rock in first because they really do move a lot of sand quickly.
