Need help here. I have a great pod population and lots of inverts. I would like some fish hopefully something to last for years and mix well with at least another fish or maybe two and corals and inverts. I am seeing some inverts getting too big, like the green brain and yellow leather in my tank. How about some leathers or other corals that stay maybe medium or less. Maybe the ladies are right...size does matter; well, at least it does in my tank. Anyway, I don't want fish that hide, ya know! :?
What fish are best for nano 12 gallon?

A clownfish would be perfect for what you want. They never ever hide, at least mine don't, they are very playful especially if you get tank bred ones. They also will eat some of your pods but not decimate the population like a wrasse would. Mine eat right out of my hand and they have been great fish for my tank. I highly recommend them because they are such good inhabitants for small reef tanks and thats probably why everone seems to have one.
Hey Shaggydoo541, bought a tank raised Percula clownfish yesterday at the lfs. He ate about three hours later. I have a domino damsel in the tank I can't catch. Thought there might be a little trouble but he was thrilled to get company. Now the clown seems to get a little irked at him and starting to nip a bit. I really like how he adds color, might get him a mate. He cost $22.99, not too high I guess. Thanks for the suggestion!

clowns are everwhere,their i think the most commonly sold saltwater fish.I guess people just think clown=saltwater.I seen one lady at a lfs who didnt even know the tank she was looking at was a sw tank till the clown poped out.How do i know what she thought,its easy she said it out loud!!everbody looked at her stupidly.I just rolled my eyes and walked past her.Maybe she should have looked at the big sign saying salwater tanks below lol.

:evil: I tell you, some people...That's not as bad as selling someone premixed salt water, sand, the tank and the fish all at once and saying they'll be fine on the first day. :twisted: I have a clownfish in my tank that's finally starting to try to host with my blue tipped Xenia but it's a maroon clown...I know...i need a bigger tank. You could always get gumdrop blennies. They come in greens, yellows and all kinds of colors. They grow to like an inch and a half. I have a green one somewhere in my tank.
