Water Evaporation calculation

I am, of course new to Nano tanks. In the process of setting up a 12 gallon.
Is there any particular way to know how much water is evaporating at any given time, so as to add the correct amount of freshwater.
I mean is it just an eyeballing thing looking at tank or markings I can add, can calculations be done based on your salinity levels to know exactly how much fresh water to add.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

i just eyeball it and add up to the fill level,
youll find a level of water in your tank that youre comfortable with,
IE: no splashing, spilling, yet enough to run your filters/skimmers ect...

unless you splurged and bought a refractometer,
then the hydrometer youre probably using is probably inaccurate,
(the ones with the the little plastic dial that raises when put in water).

BUT thats ok, as long as it stays around the same range,
for MOST of the time you should be good.

if you have a lid on your tank evaporation is really slow.
if not, ehhh not so much.

just check your water levels whenever you look at the tank.
its not too big of a deal, most fish hardy enough to survive for months at a pet store probably wont care that your specific gravity is .0000783853 off sometimes.

ya know?
dont sweat the little stuff,
its not as hard as it looks or sounds.

and good luck
