Viper problems?

How many people have had problems with their Viper clamp on lights? I have heard some horror stories. I am thinking about going topless on my NC12 but don't want to break the bank. I would prefer a light with legs that will sit a top the NC but will use a clamp on if I have to. Thanks

I know there were some issues with the first generation of the Vipers but from what I understand there is a second generation out now where they have dealt with the problems. i had problems with my bulbs at first, i went through three bulbs, and then they sent me a totally new set-up at no charge. im very happy with the service. with the new system i havent had any problems.
