Well the hair algae problem came under control with a toothbrush, nothing else worked. The emerald crab I tried unfortunately liked the branching coralline algae (that you all noticed in my .75g) better than the hair algae and now I have tons of 1/2 inch frags of it - too small to be of interest. I superglued a few to a small rock - we'll see if anything comes of them. The emerald crab is history! Everything was growing too fast so I had to upgrade to a 2.5g. I got a real small piece of blue sponge as you can see from the picture and it actually grew that long neck that you see in about 3 weeks but then it died suddenly - I believe the result of a unexpected heat spell in socal last week that I wasn't ready for. The frogspawn also lost some of its coloration so I hope it will come back. It is still expanding and fully attached so it looks like it will. Also picked up this neon green finger leather that is ready for fragging since it must have doubled in size in the 3 weeks that I have it.
I hope you like the aquascape. The tank has an aquaclear mini on the side of the tank - with live rock, some purigen, some reef carbon and a small piece of pura filter pad. The flow is very good - goes across the entire tank lengthwise. The lighting is an 18W Satellite 50/50 with a moon light which is working well even for the LPS. The firefish is doing fine in his new surroundings.
That's it - water changes are still at 5-7 days depending on how the corals are looking. Nitrates are 10 ppm before the water change, other parameters are within normal limits.
