Hey Vafik: How does 36 cents a gallon Catalina sound? lol That's the price here in Southern California or at least the price they charge at Tongs in Fountain Valley. I pay like a 1.95 to fill my 5 gallon jug. As for my lighting they are the two 18 watts 50/50 PC's clip on lights.Vafik said:Very nice setup! What lighting are you useing? According to incysor it has one of the meanest stings, stronger than that of frogspawn. Very rarely does it shoot out it's sweeping tentacles, but when it does, it can get pretty damn long. I thinking of getting rid of it, and replacing it with a different type of frag. It's a shame though, it's pretty, healthy, and the sexys love to hang out in there. My girlfriend's JBJ is pretty much set where I couldn't really accomodate it in there, as it would end up stinging other corals. I'll see what I can do, but if worse comes to worse, I'll have to sell it or give it back to LFS for credit.

That's sad, that galaxia has a really nice color. I've been out of the hobby for a few years, and it used to be that picking up a shoddy-looking frag (no offense) like that would mean the frag would just die off in a couple months. This may be a silly question, but is it possible these days to restore a frag like that to it's full health, or are the branches that are dead going to stay dead?

That's a very good description Dragon. Basically the same thing happens with galaxia. Any exposed dead skeleton will remain dead. I think this is basically true for most corals. The first coral I ever got was a bubble coral, with about a softball sized skeleton. At one point half of it died. I have no idea why, the rest of the corals seemed fine. Half of it remained healthy, and to this day extends fully, and unless you know where to look you can't even tell that half of it's missing, but as happy as it seems now it's never regrown tissue over the dead area.

Dave: Yes my tank is heated, i use a 6 inch Neptume. Temp is around 77-78. As for the filter, I am using a Whisper 10. It does have room to accomodate a small redsea pico filter to increase flow, so i may do that. Inside all I currently run is the carbon that goes with it, that i change monthly and I have added a little polyfilter bag with some chemi-pure in it, help keep it clean and clear.cowman345 said:
