The hex-5

So, here are some long awaited pics of my hex-5. They are taken with a cruddy cameraphone, but suck it up, it's the best I can do.

i think thats a lot of fish for thast small of a tank :roll: whats the plumbing?

the fish are going to a new home in July. a member of my local reef club is gonna get them. they were 1/2 inch when I got them, still less than an inch.
no plumbing. in hood filter that came with the hex-5 and added a 80gph powerhead for additional circulation.

All is fine, as long as I keep doing my weekly WC's.

I think this tank is cool... is it really only 5g?? It looks bigger than that!

How is the chili coral doing?

It really is a 5...I got really close. Yeah, cameraphones suck, but I guess better than no pics at all.
The chili is good... my hermits like to mess with it though. I think they are fascinated with it. They clean it and hang out on it... They really like to pick up corners of it and tuck themselves underneath it like a blanket.

So, to update, I'm contemplating an upgrade to keep Danica and Dale Jr.
I also figured out why the first pic came out better.
I had just a standard 10W PC bulb on it then. Once I put the corals in, I swapped it out for a 20 W 50/50 bulb.
I think the light from the 10 W is picked up better by that crappy phone.
I might switch it out to take some pics after I clean up the tank a little.
I am currently fighting some cyano and some hair algae. But I've been told this is normal for the stage of tank this is.
So, I will just continue with my WC's and toothbrush removal.
I think I'm adding some Purigen tonight
