Hi Again All

Sorry to be a pain in the A @* and ask stupid ??'s.. Here are some of my readings for the last 6 days.. I just want to make sure these are consistent with the tank cycle? I know that I need to increase my SG and will do that on next top-off.

Day 1
Temp - 79.5
pH - 7.8
Salinity - 1.023
Nitrate - 0
Nitrite - 0.25
Ammonia 8.0

Day 2
Temp - 79.6
pH - 7.8
Salinity - 1.023
Nitrate - 0
Nitrite - 0.25
Ammonia 8.0

Day 3
Temp - 79.1
pH - 8.0
Salinity - 1.021
Nitrate - 0
Nitrite - 5.0
Ammonia 8.0

Day 4
Temp - 80.9
pH - 8.0
Salinity - 1.022
Nitrate - 0
Nitrite - 5.0
Ammonia 8.0

Day 5
Temp - 79.8
pH - 8.0
Salinity - 1.021
Nitrate - 20
Nitrite - 5.0
Ammonia 0.50

Day 6
Temp - 79.7
pH - 8.2
Salinity - 1.022
Nitrate - 10
Nitrite - 5.0
Ammonia 0.25

Thanks

I am no the best at these test reading things, however i notice a few things...one, bump up the specific gravity just a little...right around 1.023 to 1.025. Also, keep an eye on the pH, it seems to be going up. Also, it is iteresting that the ammonia on day 5 and 6 dropped so drastically from day 4, but the nitrites stayed constant. someone else will need to translate that for you...i dont know if that is a problem.

Overall it seems good though.

So far so good. Try to get the pH up to 8.2-8.3 and work on keeping a steady salinity. You may need to top-off more often (daily) to keep up with the salinity fluctuations.

jesse maybe ph went up cause of time when he tested the water cause when lights are off the ph is different than when they are on for a while and for long time....ARLOGAUT did you test your water at the same time or almost at same laps of the other times?????

i thing i didnt understand skimp do top-off daily if he does that with freshwater sality will go lower but if he top off with some saltwater gravity will go up or im wrong cause to keep my stable i almost top off freshwater only once in a week cause the gravity of the water that i used for my water change is always low around .21-.22..... so please correct me if im wrong...

the swings of the parameters look  crazy that fast and is doing cycle mine was almost the same during the 4 first days...

but like skipm say so far so good and good advice that jesse keeps telling after you think your cycle is finish when everything reads 0 except ph of course let it be at least 1-2 weeks and then add cleaning crew...and then a laps between a week something new so you give your tank a chance to get used to the new stuff....

Other than the SG and PH which you are already watching closely, the results are looking good. Never worry about stupid questions or being a pain around here, we don't work that way :gcool .

xsactly jennie we are here to do our best :D and you tank is looking ok.. and dont worry on getting diatom everyone goes through that .. and cleaning crew will clean it eventually.... :) but i good way to reduce the blooming of the diatoms is lower your lighting hours.... cause you dont have nothing right know that needs light.

Looking good it is comming along great , these look like diatoms to me keep the lighst out and increas flow . Since you have nothingin there that reqires light you can keep it off and just turn it on to peek . In a week or 2 the diatoms should vansish for you , if they are on the sand and bother you there you could siphion them off but they eventually will go away on there own
And NO question is ever dumb this is how we learn
