Submersible Pumps

I own a JBJ Nano Cube 24g and decided to purchase an additional submersible pump. It's placed hidden behind the live rock in the back. More current has been created and in places where it wasn't before. Tte Coral seems to enjoy the current and looks healthier. Coral that wasn't getting current before now has some. Actually with the two pumps (outlet from sump and new submersible) going the whole tank seems to get current now. The only thing thats visible is the power cord, which is in the rear. The pump was about $20 at the LFS. The thing I've really noticed is scum doesn't form on the sand bed like it used to, which is a good thing.

I'm sure its cheaper online. Has anyone else added submersible pumps to increase current in their nano cubes and gotten good results?

I upgraded the return pump on mine to a 300 gph return pump and added a Hydor Deflector to give some added random currents. My tank is a 12DX, most nanocube owners upgrade their return pumps and some have added a spraybar for their returns. I am sure others will chime in here shortly.

12g DX owner too and updated my pump with 230gph and conbined with a hydor flo and extra pump (153 gph) in maintank with a " T " conection so im getting some great flow in my tank .

Hydor flo takes care of right front & right side of tank and adds wave motion to my tank. and finally the " T " connector back side and left side and front.

The tees are sold under the name loc-line, most fish stores carry it that deal in saltwater tanks and it is relatively easy to find from an on-line vendor as well.
