Hello again,i really enjoy reading and seeing about your fantastic tanks, and also how you take care of problems that come up. Iam going with a 20l and since i am not a mr. fix-it, what kind of lighting should i get for over the glass canopy we will try to keep some lps & sps corals and a few non aggresive fish , since a 20 l is only 12" h what kind of lighting can i go with Thanks Stuart

I would personally go with a 30" 2x65watt PowerCompact fixture, made by either Coralife or Current USA. With this amount of light over your tank it will allow you to keep a wide range of corals. You could keep Softies, and LPS although the majority of SPS would prefer more intense lighting. You could probably keep Montipora Digitata if placed high up on the rock structure. I have this same amount of light on my 20 gallon long and I'm really happy with it.

If you wanted to keep a wider variety of SPS as well as a Clam I would recommend going with a 150w metal halide fixture.

Also, SPS don't mix well with other sorts of corals as their needs are totally different and most softies, especially callimorphs, release alot of chemicals into the water column (noxious) and SPS dont handle that too well in the long run. Go with a 30" PC fixture and go with LPS, especially candy canes, zoanthids/palys, etc.

Good luck! I love 20L's!
