Stand Diagrams?

Anyone out there have a diagram for the proper structural support for a free standing stand? It'll be supporting my 35gal and I'm also looking for hood designs as well. I'm counting down to the establishment of my tank.

Thanks

I don't really know. I've got to get to it to measure it. I better do that quick before Pops start makin' sawdust. I saw some really great stands online that I referred him to. It should be pretty awesome when it's done. I've got to figure out the design of the canopy, that's actually the most important part.

Does anyone have their canopy with vents to release heat waste?

After reading several of the sites and one that wasn't posted by flame, the stand itself is easy to build. It's making to look nice where skill is involved.

I have a good idea of what I'm doing and I sent pops some furniture grade stand pics so he can get a feel for what I'm looking for. It'll be pretty sweet.

The canopy is a different matter though. I've got a light setup but I don't know if I should build little shelves so the light can sit inside or if it needs to be mounted to the underside of the hood.

I was thinking of putting vents in the top of the canopy to release waste heat through thermal induction and I was curious to know if anyone has slotted the top of their light setup to release heat that was as well. I've got to look at it again tonight since it's an older model. And if that's the case then I'd probably b uild shelves so it can rest inside the canopy about 1" from the top and that way the heat can go up instead of being trapped.

This sound like a good idea?
