I have decided to set up a mushroom tank. I have a JEBO that is 7 gallons. I dont want to use the lights that are in it. each bulb is about 12inch long (they are t-5s.) Its about 14 inches acrross. what lights should i use? all i plan on having are mushrooms and maybe one other low light coral.

Why can't you just replace one of the bulbs with a blue/actinic t-5?

i cant find them in the size i need. the company that makes the tank doesnt sell the bulbs.
What size length/wattage are your lamps?

Mike and I were discussing t-5's awhile back. I believe the ones in your tank are the normal t-5 variety, not the HO ones, which most folks doing marine tanks use. However the HO version only comes in longer bulbs. Mike was getting good results with his normal output ones though and he posted a couple places to look for them in the following thread.

According to the site I guess you would. Ask Dragon, he has some of these.

I'm not finding any t5 bulbs by jebo or odysea anyplace that is 11, 12, or 13 inches long.

I'm not following too well, but I can tell you what I have. They are two clip on lights. Each puts out 18watts, and they are 50/50 power compacts. They're made by Mr. Aqua, and it model: D-008. On the box it says 18 watt bulb provides 7200K full spectrum illumination, making it ideal for aquatic plant growth. 30 % efficient saving in electricity. The box has a lot of asian writing on it too, chinese or something. I got it from my LFS in Fountain Valley, Ca at the fish store Tongs. Not sure how long they are inches wise, but those specs weren't on the box. I'm guessin they must be 12 inches *by the looks of them* Hope any of this helps.

Actually I just confused the issue by typing too fast and then not going back and re-reading.....I meant to say that he could ask Mike, Dragon's brother. Hell, earlier I even posted the thread where Mike and I were discussing his t5's. Instead it just came out ask Dragon....Sorry. I goofed.
