that shrimp should be fine but i dont know nothing bout snails or crabs so cant say anything but im sure they would be fine
you should even be able to keep a pair of shrimp in that tank but make sure you buy them as a pair. also maybe a small fish. but it is easier to keep without fish. ok gonna stop talkin :blah and hope this helps :victory

I wouldnt suggest the banded shrimp for a 9g tank... my bro-in-law had one in a 12g tank and it was just awkward-looking. Even though the shrimp doesnt get too big, its claw-span is pretty wide and it's antennae are very long... it just looked too big for the tank. As far as snails and crabs go, 10 of each is WAY too much. I would get one or two nassarius, one or two astrea, and a hermit or two. Make sure to have a couple spare shells for the hermit or they may kill the snails for their shell.

peppermints are better...i have a pair in my 12gallon...first couple weeks you wont see them but now they are always out...mostly upside down on the underside of overhangs...very cool lil shrimp, will also eat any aiptasia

Exactly what I was going to say: get about 6 sexy shimp. I've had them in my 2.5, 5.5, 12 and 20 gallon nano. They are frekin sweet!

Harlequin shrimp are nice too. But you will have to add some starfish twice a month or so (as they eat starfish... nothing else substantially).
