Hi Everyone,
I'm thinking about purchasing a few fish online. Does anyone know of any trusted online retailers?

Hey,

I deal with J&L aquatics out of Vancouver.

Great service and prices. I've heard they are one of the best suppliers on the continent. Don't order from the US for livestock. Many times a delay at customs will happen and you'll get a bag of dead fish. Not worth the risk. J&L gets their livestock direct and can ship out immediately. They have flat rate shipping for overnight so you know what to expect with no surprises.

Highly recommend them to Canadian reefers

That is great news!!!!
I'll be sure to take a look at what they have and compare thier prices to the local places around Toronto.

I'll keep you posted if I place an order.

Thanks again fellow Canadian

I forgot to mention

If you do order from the States, your credit card company gives you the lowest possible exchange rate, you are dinged with GST at the border, and UPS or FED EX will charge you ~10% "brokerage fee"for doing the paperwork at customs. Contact Customs before you order to arrange for permits, and MAKE SURE that the American Fish store includes the LATIN names of the livestock so they can reference it with CITES to see if it is a regulated species. 99/100 times it isn't, but it can waste valuable time at customs.

This all equals.....way too much trouble. Order livestock from Canada. Besides, all the best US dealers won't ship here anyway (ie. Dr. Foster's and Smith) for this reason.

This is the only site I've dealt with online. I can't vouch for any others. My LFS's aren't that bad here in town, but they don't get anything really exotic. I highly recommend the LiveRock from J&L. It arrived better than the cured stuff at my LFS.
