I got a sexy shrimp the other day. Alot of the information online says they should be keep in groups. Is this true or will a single shrimp do fine?

I have a single in one of my nanocubes and it is always out in the open near its favorite coral. I also have a nanocube that has a fairly large group of these neat little guys, the only other tankmate (other than a couple of snails) is an anenome shrimp. I think that the group has a bit more dancing and showing for each other than the single sexy but it seems to be fine by itself. HTH, Skip

I had one for my girls 12 gallon and it disapeared. I put 2 in my 6 and they stick together, watching their backs. I think they feel more secure, and are out more where you can see them when they are two or more...

i was worried that my ghost shrimp would kill it but they seem to be afarid. Right now it moves half way across the tank and back again. Im looking at getting 3 more so i have 2 pairs.

I fire shrimp won't bother them. A ghost shrimp might. They're known to be agressive when they get larger much like coral banded shrimps are.

I've kept them singly and in groups. I think that pairs seem to work best. When I've had odd numbers they've seemed to pair up most of the time, and leave one running around by itself.

They are so cute as a pair - go for a pair if you can. And since they normally hang out together - I think they prefer the company =)
