I bought another piece of live rock and I think my turbo snail knocked two pieces loose tonight. What is the best way to secure live rock?

There are any number of commercial epoxies specifically meant to secure rock underwater. You don't even need to take the rock out of water for some of them! Just look around in some of the online stores, and I'm sure you'll find something fairly quickly.

I use this stuff called AquaMend which is an underwater repair epoxy putty. Its a 2 part mix that makes a nice firm hold on rock. I bought it at Home Depot I believe. I've had fair success with it but the thing to remember is that nothing works perfect. I've been resorting more and more to the 'where is falls, it will stay' method. If you need a pic of it, let me know.
Oh and for small frags and rock, I use superglue gel. Works great.

how are you guys placing your rock on sand bedded tanks? Are you placing it on egg crate?
yea, place it right on the sand bed, if you can get it in as much as you can so it doesnt get moved by any burrowing critters. I've been told by some people to put in the live rock first and then put in the sand, but thats crazy talk. The sand would get all over the rock and everyhting would be a mess.
Yea, I put mine directly on the sand.
BTW, using epoxy to secure your live rock together may not be a good idea cause you might end up with one solid mass of live rock. Also,Limits your aquascaping options. I think I change my aquascaping about every other week......................Just can never get it right.
