Reef Lobster in Nano Tank

Does anyone have a Reef Lobster? Could you have one in a Nano Tank? My LFS has one in they look kind of cool and real bright (the picture on livequaria is not that good). I don't think I would get one just want to know if it is possible in a nano tank and how hard they are to take care of.

you might be able to keep one in a nano.......BUT, they get big.the care level is easy but its states caution for reef compatiable. i wouldnt recomend it but i have seen crazier things

i saw some in my LFS and asked about them....they like bigger tanks for scavenging really...but could go in a nano (but grow to 6 inches).....the biggest downside according to the LFS (who tend to be honest even if it means not making a sale) is that as they are nocturnal and shy...you never really see them as they spend all day in the rockwork

They also have the ability to snag an unsuspecting fish as well as knock stuff over :mrgreen:

Are they reef compatiable? I would think they might eat a few snails and crabs but do they eat coral?

If it got six inches long I would probably have the urge to fry him up with butter :leat (Just kidding) :lol3:

I would suspect that they may nip at corals but I am not positive :mrgreen:

I would stick with the red blood shrimp. They have smaller claws and are less likely to take out a sleeping fish.

Yes we have a reef lobster to shy never see it, its alive because i get to see its shell when it molts.
