Red Worms?

My wife and I noticed a red, really thin worm in our live sand. I tried to Google, but couldn't find anything definitive. He would come up towards the surface if direct light was off, but as soon as direct light was applied he retreated.

Any ideas?

Well the only red worm that comes to my mind are the BRISTLE WORMS check does maybe they are the ones you have in your sand bed and well they are reef safe dont worry they are kinda part of your cleaning crew they will eat the left over and stirr you sand to so i good thing to have only if you consider they are too big take them out if you can but not necessarily and well here is more info:

dont think that they are bristle worms, i also have these. havent noticed any ill effects so i wouldnt bother them. im sure they are some sort of spagetti worm. harmless to a reef tank.

If they are spaghetti worms they are fantastic detritavores, I even went so far as to buy some for my tank. Most of the worms you find in your reef are good even bristleworms, some people do wish to remove large bristleworms but that is a personal preference.

I'm gonna have to vote against the spaghetti worm after seeing some pics of them. I haven't noticed any white stringy things coming from them.

I'll see if I can get a picture of them (him or her).
