Red Hair Algea

I have a rock that has some red hair algea growing on it. If I've researched it correctly, then it would be Gracilaria. Reading up on it, tangs love this stuff but I have no tang and do not have plans to put one in a 30 gallon tank. Does anyone know of an alternative, maybe an invert that likes to eat this stuff? Any suggestions would be welcome!

are you sure its a red hair alage and not that red brillo alage? is it long and stringy or short little tuffs? a lawnmower blenny, emarald crab, and mexican turbos eat hair alage.

There are a few spots on the rock that it grows long, but mainly short. I have a lawnmower blenny, and he doesn't touch it. I went after it yesterday with tweezers, and do you know what the pods were doing in there  . At least something is using it!

well i had this short red turff looking alage on my LR and the only way i knew to get rid of it was either a few mexican turbos or cooking the LR. I started to cook the LR. can you post a pic?

Not sure a pic would do any good, I went after if with tweezers yesterday. You cooked the LR? How bad of a stench did that make? Will look into the Mexican turbos.

right, I thought the same thing. I have it in a tub in my garage with a power head. i rinse them and do a water change every two weeks. so far all my coraline is still there but all alage is almost gone.
