I'd throw in some shrimp pellets for that peppermint, or a small piece of silverside. That should keep them at bay and leave those snails alone. Normally I see crabs the ones after snails though...how weird in your case. I dont know anything about the redfooted conch, sorry about that, but it sounds like they'd be sifting and eating the debris of food leftovers.

As for best snail eating snails...I'm having great luck with black turbos and margarita snails. Hard workers.

thanks dragon I am not sure he is a peppermint anymore maybe a camel back shrimp ? or perhaps the snail was already dead when the shrimp had his share of escargot ? The lfs had him listed as a peppermint shrimp . ok now I am gonna sound dumb what is sliver side ? I feed them 3 times a week small ammounts of frozen brine and 2x aweek with a small ammount of pellets . we also had something that looked like spider webs all over the tank this am any one know what that is . I will look for the black turbo and margarita snails this week end . due to the spider web looking things I am scheduling a 2- 3 gallon h20 change today .

silversides are like small frozen fish. You just cut them up in small pieces and throw um in (like sushi to fish ) hehe. I never had frozen brine shrimp so I dont know if they soak them in vitamin enrichments, but if not, I'd get live brine, and then add some "selcon' for them to receive the beneficial proteins to make them something other than "candy" for your fish. I'd let them absorb selcon up to like 8 to 12 hours before adding the brine into the shrimp to ensure it's in their bodies upon feeding.

Also you are right if the snail was already dead, they'll start eating um up. As for the spiderwebs, the only thing I can think of it may be some sort of die-off. A picture could tell otherwise. Good luck to you.

yeah if you touch them, they can realeae this milkish goo, but is usually sucked up and cleaned up shortly through the water flow. Probably nothing though.
