Moonlights on when the tank lights are off. There's no good reason to leave them on when the tank lights are on if you don't have to. Just a waste of electricity.

Poll? see no steeekin poll!

Mike, moonlights are generally run on the flip side of the regular tank lights.

Tank lights - on....moonlights off.
Moonlights - on....tank lights off.

i second sugar magnolias's response......where da heck is da poll???? I have been deceived! Anyway I would have voted 24/7 as they consume very low power. The one watt LED I got, is just a plug in, there is no on or off switch. As for the R2's those are 5 LED's, stronger, you can put them on a timer if you want, but I dont see the harm in leaving them on, I believe Larnie from nano-reef has them on 24/7.

In agreement of the last two posts, very low consumption, it's plug in and forget it about it Go for whatever floats your boat.
