M mikeguerrero Active Member Feb 10, 2007 #2 Perfectly normal for a new tank... Once the sandbed becomes mature it will not lift up like you are experiencing... In the meantime you can try to redirect the nozzle to minimize the sand storms you are creating...

skipm Moderator Staff member Feb 12, 2007 #3 Like Mike said once the tank matures the sand will have a thin bacterial layer on it that will help keep it in place. This is of course referring to sand that is being affected by small currents and not from strong currents or direct flow.
