Question about fragging

I got some frags at a swap a couple of months ago, specifically a frogspawn. It came on a plastic plug that I had a hard time getting it to sit on the rock work so i ended up putting it in the sandbed.

Questions:

1. Will the sandbed irritate the coral's base structure?

2. Are they better off attached to a rock and out of the sandbed or will the plastic plug work buried in the sandbed?

3. It is glued to the plug so if i wanted to move it off of the plug, could I just cut it as close to the plug as possible then re-glue it to a rock?

4. Is there anything that I should be worried about with the frogspawn?

I'm planning on moving everything from the plastic plugs (which are 2 colonies of button polyps, frogspawn and a ric) to rocks this weekend. Hopefully everything will go smoothly. If you have any tips for the other coral feel free to post.

I have my frogspawn dug into the sand as well and haven't noticed any trouble. I could be wrong but I'm guessing that there base isn't actually alive... Isn't it just rock that's formed from the growth?

My Rics are still not doing well at all so I'm interested to see if anyone has input on that one.

you can do either
cut it off and reglue it where you want it or leave it in the sand - main thing with frogs is they can sting so if you reglue it somewhere be advised it will effect where you can place other corals 4" min distance to any other coral
