I now have my 35 gallon tank up and going. Its much easier to get around than my 12g. Anyway. Colsen...my 2 year old, loves playing "peep eye" with this tank. He could care less about whats in the tank, just loves the angles I guess.

Just felt like some of you guys would get a kick out of that, I'm sure some of ya have seen the same thing, Its quite fulfilling IMO..

Didn't catch any pics of the game, but I will make my first attempt of posting pics through photobucket. Keep in mind I am really new to this stuff..even the reefing hobby. Let me know if you guys..or gals see any obvious boo..boos in anything I have done. I am in the process of slowly moving things from my 12g nano to the bigger tank.

Oh yeah, anyone got any ideas of how to fix that shadow cast by the support bar on top of the tank.

Its really weird. I was afraid I would have temp problems cause my jbj wanted to run 81.

I put 2 fans in this hood and left the back open. It turns out when the lights are on with the fans, it drops the temp 2 degrees and holds it there. Starts at 79 and falls to 77. I unhooked one fan and threw a towel over the back and it drops .5 deg. when fan comes on then stays steady.

I don't know if it makes much of diff. but I am pulling in air instead of pulling it out. The tank measures 12" deep, 23" tall and 33" wide and its using loosing about a gallon a day to evap. Seems like a lot of water to loose and its working me silly refilling every day. Gotta get an auto top system made now and replace the towel with something less painfull on the eyes.

I can't wait until my son is old enough to enjoy the aquariums.
We have a bonus room and a playroom upstairs and the tank is in the bonus room. Its torture when we have company and a dozen kids are running wild, looking in the tank and stuff. I can imagine a penney making its way to the wishing well!!

I will say, when your son gets old enough to have show and tell at school. Just take some shots of your tank. He will win every week. Kamryn (daughter) won many weeks with shots of shrimp, snails and stuff.

My wife isn't really into the hobby like I am, so the kids are really easy to talk into asking mom for a new critter for the tank.

The bulb is XM 10k XM, 175 watt. A friend at work, who is always upgrading gave me the ballast and bulb. He used it for 3 months. I am happy with the look..and price.

 In my old house a cookie found it's way into one of my freshwater tanks! The fish actually pecked at it for a bit...but then I had to do a couple of water changes over the next couple of days. Kind of annoying but it was my fault. I had the tanks in easy reach of children. I have since learned my lesson

Tim...Thats funny

I have had my nano on an end table since I started the tank in January and have really expected something like that to happen. I really am shocked nothing made its way to the tank. (that I know of).
