Does anyone know anyone selling "Purple people eaters"? I saw some online but the prices are ridiculous ranges from $35-$50 per polyp after you had the high shipping and minimum is three poylps! I just thought I might get lucky and have someone here reply back stating they have info or have some themselves. Thanks

sorry but i was just being sarcastic - i do have a 10 polyp fragof these i'm selling for 15$ but what i was really trying to say that you shouldn't be taken in by "named" corals - it means very little.........too many reefers are pulled in by fads and "limited addition" and "rare" titles

here are mine one under actinic and one under flash - neither show their true color - type of lighting flow and water quality is everthing call them what you will - they're all palies put them in a different tank and they will adapt and color differently

not the best pics but.....

just me expressing my opinion about some of the price hiking in this hobby

and here is the maddness..... much better pic but my camera is cheap ;)

Those things are rare?!?! I bought a 15-20polp colony for $10 a year ago, and aside from a big apisatia making their life difficult, they grow fast even under 220w PC's.

no phischy they are not - that was my whole point..............i paid like 19.99 for my colony of about 15 and now have enough to share. i will admit that there are a lot of really beautiful corals coming in these days, really colorful zoas, SPS, LPS, everything - but it is just one of those things with me - i hate those terms "exotic" or "rare" or "limited edition" because there are people out there using these terms very loosly just trying to boost prices and make money. most corals will adapt to their current lighting anyway and someone may fork out big bucks for some "rare" crazy colored zoa just to watch it change color in their tank in 3 months... one of my favorite zoas i got out of the bargain bin at an LFS (10$) it had a couple brown pallies and something else on it - couldn't tell what cause their lighting was so bad on that tank - but i ended up with 3 dif colored zoas on the same rock and the pallies turned flourescent green - all pretty in their own right.

i love zoos my nano is full of different colors and polyp sizes. there are a couple of online zoas sites that sell alot of different color schemes. there is www.reefkingdom.com out of utah.they have awesme colors they use the fancy names and all but if u dont have the proper lites. my favorite place to get on line zoas is www.zomania.com nic is in st.louis mo. i have been dealing with nic for almost a year. his zoas always open. imho. i like my zoas to be a bigger polyp. i got these pink with lime green centers last october started with 3 polyps now have over 20 and still counting feed them frozen fish food when i feed my fish the zoos close like a venus fly trap. i also try to get the zoas that are carribien when they have babies u dont get one or two u get 4 or5 at a time. nic also uses the fancy names first time buyers get a discount plus he will send a free frag with every order. also sometimes i order the zoos without rocks so i can glue them any where like too my clam shells or on the back wall of my nano.
