Pump Meltdown

Well, thankfully I came home for lunch because for some odd reason, the power went out and came back on. Dunno how long tho. Anyways, the rio pump that has survived this long (only because I have to hit it to jump start it after a surge) was super hot and smoking when I got home. Unplugged it and and checked on things. Slightly melted but ok otherwise. I tried to jump start it to get things flowing again but I am affraid it is now RIP unfortunately.

My question is, how long can a tank last on just 2 Maxijet 1200's for circulation? That's all I have and won't be able to replace the pump for a few weeks unless I can get ahold of a kind person. So, would it be ok?

Thanks

you should be fine, point one at the surface to make sure you get good O2 exchange

Thanks all for the help. Luckily a nice guy at the not so local fish store set me up with a mag 7. I am happy now and so is my tank.

Bummer Kris! Damn Rio pumps! Check your reef club to see if anyone has a pump they can offer you cheap.
You make me wonder sometimes. Do you stalk me? Or do you really not know? Lol. My local reef club? HAHAHA. They have a sign that says SOS - shoot on site with my picture below it.

Scratch that one off the list of friendlies :D
