I just purchased a Flavivertex Pseudo to add with the cleaner shrimp in my ten gallon tank on Friday, shortly after the pseudo was acclimated and put in, the shrimp went went and hid under an overhang of live rock. Hasn't come out since. Was wondering if anybody has had personnal experience with this, or any other type of pseudo acting particularly aggressive towards shrimp or fish all together.

Nearly all the dottybacks tend to be agressive. I had to trap out a neon dottyback that killed anything I tried to add to the tank regardless of shape/size/coloration etc..

same here...my neon tore a six line wrasse to shreds within a half hour of adding it to the tank. I tried to catch it but it would dart into the rocks. all I could do was watch.

the horror, the horror! (done in my best Marlon Brando voice)

aww crap

I think I may now know what happened to the sexy shrimp I got a few days ago. I saw him the night i put him in, then the next day he was gone. No telling if he's hiding, or if he got eaten by the purple psuedo. The sexy shrimp is so small it's like finding a needle in a haystack. I'll keep tabs and see if I ever see the little guy again....sighs

and I was thinking about getting the same exact fish, never mind!, just wondering is it at least really pretty, if you could take some pics that would be great

I have read articles that say that the bi-color pseudochromis - pound for pound is one of the toughest fish in the ocean. its been documented that this fish will fight with other fish that are more than 10 times it's own size! A very cute fish, that packs a hell of a punch!.. I've also read that if your gonna add one to your tank, make sure its the last one you add..once they stake there territory, i guess they really dont back down... :!:
