problem with my feather duster

hi....i was wondering if anyone had any ideas about this....

i've had a couple of clowns with a feather duster since my original set up with no problems at all (in fact the larger clown was almost hosting him to start with)....

and then about a week ago the larger clown has started to nip at his crown and the top of his tube, and he only manages to get out about half an inch before it does it again...

is there any way i can discourage him...or has he turned worm-eater and my feather duster doomed?

Clowns naturally can be nippers and may nip at their host (usually an anenome ) if the featherduster becomes stressed enough it may shed its crown .... it may be to the point that you need to move the featherduster to an area safe from the clown fish or an diffrent tank altogether ......The nipping can also be a sign of nesting , as for stopping it I don't think that there is a way to stop it all together

feather dusters are filter feeders the big ones are hard too keep use d.t live photoplankton couple a times a week. the little white dusters that grow on live rock are easy to keep alive read marine invertabrates by ronald l. shimek. page 210

thanks for that....i do give them photoplankton .....and just to update....he shed his crown, but 2 weeks later has grown another...added a bit to his tube, and the best news....the clown seems to have lost interest (fingers crossed)
