Power Compacts

Jesse got me thinking about standard household power compact lighting. I came across this site that sells all kinds of PC lights. What do you guys think about putting a few of these in a custom hood along side of standard long tube PC lights? All you would need is a socket and AC cord. I know 6500k lights probably aren't the best color but i was thinking that you could mix them with your current lights.

The downfall to those is there is no way to efficiently reflect the light into the tank... most of it will be wasted. You may wash out the blue spectrums of other lamps because they are pretty yellow.

Another thing... for the almost $30 you are spending on one of those, you could get a legitemate 55/65 watt PC retro with the correct spectrum.

Now all of this isnt to say that people havent used them in reefs. It can be done, but I personally wouldnt do it.
